Maple Glazed Pecans
I recently made a batch of maple glazed pecans to top my pumpkin and banana bread. These pecans are perfect to eat by themselves or to top your favorite bread. If you have a large family, I suggest making a double batch as with my family they tend not to last too long. Maple glazed pecans have a tendency to burn very easily; however, I found a little trick that helps prevent that from happening. I place my pecans in a cold oven and bake them while the oven is heating up to 350 degrees. Right before it reaches 350 degrees the pecans are perfectly baked and not burned.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of pecans
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp of brown sugar
Steps
- In large skillet add pecans, maple syrup, sea salt and cinnamon.
- Stir until all pecans are coated with the mixture.
- place parchment paper on a large baking sheet
- Pour the pecan mixture on the baking sheet and spread out the pecans evenly.
- Put baking sheet in a cold oven and turn on to 350 degrees.
- Bake the pecans while the oven is heating up until it reaches 350 degrees or right before.
- Make sure to stir frequently to prevent the pecans from burning.
- When done sprinkle with the brown sugar and place in an airtight container when they are completely cooled.
- Will last up to one week (if they make it that long!)
Enjoy!
